Not the headline fee — the all-in number. Amazon has eight fee categories and most sellers track two. Put in your own figures and see every line, including the ones that never make it onto the spreadsheet.

Why your number is higher than the headline
Amazon
Eight fee categories. Two on most spreadsheets.
Referral and fulfilment get tracked. Storage, inbound placement, inbound defects, aged inventory, low inventory and returns processing often don’t — reporting puts them at $0.30 to $4.00 or more per unit. Since April 17, 2026 a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge sits on top of every FBA fulfilment fee (Amazon’s notice).
Etsy
The 6.5% is charged on shipping too.
So is payment processing, which also applies to the sales tax Etsy collects. A multi-quantity listing renews for $0.20 every time it sells. And from June 22, 2026 Regulatory Operating Fees changed in seven markets, including France at 1.14% and Hungary at 1.97% (Etsy’s fee policy).
eBay
Same ads, more of your sales carrying the ad fee.
Sellers report that after eBay changed how it attributes sales to Promoted Listings, the share of their sales counted as ad-driven went from roughly 30–40% to 80–90%, with no matching lift in return. The calculator shows what that shift costs at your ad rate (eBay’s fee page).

Changes that moved sellers’ costs or obligations this year, in our words. Each links to the marketplace’s own page.
Amazon
In-house prep service ended; inbound defect fees went up. Source
